Really love how the folks at the LA Times Data Desk presented yesterday’s California primary election results.
At a glance, you can see the breakout of the Democratic and Republican seats — all represented by equal-sized squares. That’s in contrast to representing the districts by their geographies, as we election geeks often do, which visually grants more importance to seats representing districts that are larger in square area, but relatively equal in population.
I also like the quick breakdown of the chamber’s representation across the top, and the demographic and political information on that district at the side.
Clean, accurate and beautiful. Nicely done.
