Noah Veltman joins WNYC’s Data News Team
We’re thrilled to announce that programmer and data journalist Noah Veltman is joining us as a developer.
Noah is exceptionally qualified for our merry band of data journalists. He spent the last year building interactive graphics and news applications at BBC News Online as a Knight-Mozilla OpenNews Fellow. He’s also been finding, scraping, cleaning and analyzing data as part of the BBC News Data Team, where he built open-source software to solve common newsroom technology problems and ran a series called Learning Lunches.
When he’s not doing news, Veltman’s hobbies include photography, baseball and Wikipedia arcana — his recent projects include an analysis of Wikipedia use during the 2012 election and a Wikipedia Advent Calendar. He’s a native of Northern California, and will be moving to New York City in the coming weeks. He starts at WNYC in February.
We’re all super excited about what Veltman will bring – and add – to our exciting list of Data News projects.
